📍 Bandon, Oregon

South Jetty Park is likely considered to be the most popular Bandon park by the community and tourists alike. For many, this is the easiest access point to sandy beaches. Rustic by nature, this gateway to long stretches of beach delivers grand views, a variety of birds, and crashing waves. South Jetty Park is four acres of undeveloped land consisting of river and ocean fronts.

On the north side is the Coquille River’s entrance to the ocean, fronted by a sandbar. Here you will see fishing boats and the Coast Guard navigate the challenging bar entryway. Surfers and fishing fans often line the coastal beach along with agate seekers and rock hounds. The park features a large parking lot and restroom. The Coquille River is home to harbor seals who swim the river.

Occasionally, whales can be spotted near the river entry taking a rest from their long journey. Migrating pelicans swoop overhead all along the beaches. South Jetty Park is the place to be to watch the strong winter storms. Waves crash against the jetty's rock walls, often spreading debris, foam, and water into the parking lot. This generally peaceful place to take respite—to sit in your car and watch the waves—becomes noisy and frenzied as the waves rock and roll.

City Park is sometimes referred to as the "The Jewel of Bandon." City Park, located on 11th Street, is home to a playground, dog park, 18-hole disc golf course, ball fields, pickleball courts, and walking paths, all on a treed 15 acres.

StoryWalk® is a series of rotating plaques of local interest, storybooks, and educational features along a pathway through the park. It is the perfect venue for strolling and reading to a child.

A disc golfer makes his final shot for par and it is considered a challenge to wind through the trees. Visitors from other communities frequently drop by for a round of disc golf. FOBPR will be replacing signage in 2026 to help visitors better navigate the course.

Gather with friends and family for a picnic in the park. Offering a variety of picnic areas with grills, tables, and scenic views.

Four courts are next to the playground.

Currently, trails run throughout the park. More paths are planned with improvements for handicap access.

The playground offers swings, play structures, slides, and more. New equipment and surface material will be installed in early 2024.

Basketball, softball, and baseball fields (that also accommodate soccer) are located in City Park.

Dogs and owners are welcome to stretch their legs in the fenced-in dog park on the south side of the park. Dog waste bags and a waste receptacle are provided in the dog park for your convenience in picking up after your dog.

Get up close and personal with nature's magnificent creatures. Our parks are home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, birds, and more.

This wetland area can be soggy in the rainy season and lush in the summer. Walking trails are being developed with improvements to this newer park.
